Artist's Statement:
Kat Anderson turns conventional images of the quotidien on its head, taking fragmentary realism and mixing it with expressionism, while using humour to create a new take on surrealism, which is closer to absurdism.
About the Artist:

Hi, I'm Kat Anderson. I'm the genius visionary culprit artist behind kandeart.com.
I am not an MFA or anything like that, but I've been obsessed with drawing for my entire life. That boils down to about 28 years of experience.
Evidence:

I lived in Colorado until I was 19 and then I moved to Wisconsin.
I love: stick shifts, endlessly editing my budget spreadsheet, and coffee. I hate: soggy cereal, the texture of terra cotta flowerpots, and wearing shoes. I only have one kidney but my dad has three. I exercise a bunch, go to night school (seeking my BS in Business Management), and work at an awesome software company.
I'm married to Brian. He's a computer guy who used to be a chef. He likes playing musical instruments and he currently heads a (different) software company.
I have cats named Dingis and Dopey. They enjoy cat activities such as yowling when they want things and stealing my water at night.
Why are there numbers on the drawings?
I like to always know when I drew something. When I was in high school I got into the habit of always dating my journals in the format DAMOYR written all as one number. A drawing dated 022408 was drawn on February 24, 2008.

Web Design:
The web site redesign was done by Corey of Mythic Web Design. You can contact him at his website, mythicwebdesign.com for all of your web design needs.
Corey is an excellent web designer and an extremely professional businessperson. He made the entire process painless, listening to all my ideas and giving me exactly what I needed. He's extremely responsive to feedback and made all suggested changes, even suggesting improvements I hadn't thought of that greatly improved the design, and completed my project for a fraction of what I had expected to spend.
